my name is jen

I grew up in York, Pennsylvania with my parents and two sisters. As a young girl I found a love for art thanks to her teachers throughout school. Towards the end of high school I decided that going to school for art was what I wanted, and decided on the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.

Hello There!

I always knew I wanted to be an artist and educator. In 2015 I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and my teaching certification and began my career as a public school art teacher. Almost a decade later I still love what I do! Throughout my teaching career I have worked in both elementary and high schools helping to spread the joy of creativity to my students.

Over the course of my education career I found time to get my Masters in Arts Administration and begin designing art pieces for friends and family. These pieces were the beginnings and inspiration to start Freckled Press.  I love to see the joy that art can bring to others, and wants to make that joy a regular part of my life.  My core values as an artist are joy, creativity, and connection and I strive to share that through my work.

"Jen designed my entire wedding suite and stationary for my wedding."

Jen designed my entire wedding suite and stationary for my wedding. The invitations were beautiful and creative; she helped bring my vision to reality. Jen created a stunning watercolor of the  Chesapeake Bay on the back of my formal invitation. The design of my invitation suite seamlessly flowed into my other components of my wedding stationary. Jen was extremely patient during the design process and catered to my attention to detail. Her cheery personality and genuine excitement for the finished products made the design process extremely enjoyable.

"Jen had just started dabbling in graphic design when she mentioned to me that can personalize a wedding invite for me."

"My venue boasts beautiful hanging glass structures that she immediately  envisioned on my invite, after hearing her idea I was so excited. I had a one page design that she made custom with a watercolor drawing of my venue, and an added bonus of my pups on the back side. I loved integrating personal touches and having a piece that felt true to both my and her creative visions."

"I would 100% recommend working with Jennifer to capture special places, objects, memories in a beautiful watercolor painting!"

"We were gifted a painting of our townhome for our wedding and we loved it so much, I commissioned two more house paintings from her for a neighbor and friend as gifts. She is extremely talented and a joy to work with! Also supporting a local artist in my neighborhood was a bonus!"
